WHAT IS PILATES?
Pilates is a method of strengthening the deep muscles, responsible for posture. The deep muscles are the core muscles, which are located between the ribs and the pelvis, and all around the spine (abdominals, pelvic floor and back muscles). They are the energy center of the body, which allows you to be stronger and more stable. Pilates is also a discipline that allows you to become more aware of your body, its strength and its limits in order to use it better.
WHAT ARE THE MAIN PRINCIPLES OF THIS METHOD?
It is specific. It is a lateral thoracic breathing which allows a better use of the lungs (inspiration through the nose, expiration through the mouth).
It is necessary to be completely conscious of each movement and its execution for an optimal quality of each exercise.

Each movement must be controlled with the breath and the mind. One must be fully aware of one’s body in order to control each posture, each movement and to feel it deeply.
