Clothes Getting Tight?
Now is the time when we compare winter weights to summer wardrobes and decide to spring for weight loss programs, diet books, pills and potions to take the weight off. Actually, many people aren't overweight but just may be out of shape and wanting to eat more healthfully. If you are one of the many people who are looking to make a change, you need HELP - Healthful Eating (& Exercise) to Lose Pounds.
We are very excited to offer you HELP: Our new program offered by Cornell-trained nutritionist Marie Lovenheim and Jodi Brennan. HELP emphasizes the fact that watching the number on the scale go down isn't enough or isn't what it's all about…fitness must be a big component of getting in shape and getting or staying healthy. Through HELP, you will focus not just on eating well but on how to include exercise to get you feeling good. HELP includes nutrition consultations with Marie as often as you like and, with each session, you will receive coupons for yoga classes or use of the cardio room. This program works around your schedule and allows you to come as frequently as you need to meet your goals.
HELP is currently running for March and April only so, if you are interested in signing up, please contact the studio today.
Exercise Can Lower Your Risk of Colon Cancer
Each year more than 100,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with colon cancer. New studies have shown a powerful link between exercise and colon cancer. Researchers at the Washington University School of Medicine and at Harvard University analyzed decades worth of data from past studies and found that people who exercise frequently are 24 percent less likely to develop colon cancer than people who exercise very little. The researchers found that the protective effect of exercise held for all types of physical activity, whether recreational or job related.
